Toyota Yaris

Recently, a friend consulted me about whether buying a Toyota Yaris was the best choices for a female. She had told me that buying a car would be the first important thing in 2014. She would like to buy a new small-scale car with a reasonable price. I have listed some benefits of buying a Toyota Yaris.
Firstly, my friend is an international student and expects to go back her country after completion of her master degree. Toyota is considered one of the leading brands in retaining resale value. Therefore, she can expect to get a nice trade-in price when she decides to sell it.Secondly, Yaris is priced from $14,430, which is not over her budget of $20,000. Thirdly, my friend does not want to have a high expenditure on petrol. It is widely acknowledged that Japanese cars have an advantage of low petrol consumption. Furthermore, Toyota Yaris is suitable for female drivers, as it is easier controlling than some other cars. Overall, I support her in buying the car.(James Liu)

Family Tree of Auto Industry

Today, I had a lunch with my friend who is a car dealer and we talked a lot about a variety of vehicle brands. To my surprise, Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen which also owns Audi and Bentley. I found that I had never focused on the family tree of the auto industry, so I made some research about it after lunch. The auto industry has a very confusing family tree. In the past few years, a large number of car brands were establishing partnerships, or merging, or experiencing bankruptcies. Therefore, it becomes difficult to keep up with who owns which car brands. In the next part, I have listed some of them. BMW owns Mini and Rolls Royce. Fiat owns Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, and Ram. Ford Motor Company owns Lincoln and a small stake in Mazda. General Motors owns Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC. GM owns a controlling interest in Daewoo, as well as Opel and Vauxhall in Europe and Holden in Australia. (The U.S. government also owns a stake in GM.) Honda owns Acura. Hyundai owns Kia. Tata Motors (India) owns Jaguar and Land Rover. Mazda is independently owned. Mitsubishi is independently owned. Daimler AG owns Mercedes-Benz and Smart. Nissan which is owned by Renault owns Infiniti. Saab is owned by National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS). Subaru is owned by Fuji Heavy Industries with Toyota a minority partner. Toyota Motor Company owns Lexus, Scion, Daihatsu and Hino Motors, with a stake in Fuji Industries (Subaru's parent company) and Isuzu. Volkswagen owns Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, and overseas-brands SEAT and Skoda. Volvo is owned by Chinese-automaker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, aka Geely. (Baron Zhang)

2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet Details

Summer is just around the corner and there’s good news from Audi emanating from the Frankfurt Motor Show this week with the debut of the gorgeous A3 Cabriolet.

Featuring a fabric roof which opens in 18 seconds and is fully concealed when open, the Audi A3 Cabriolet will be launched with a choice of two petrol engines (1.4 TFSI with cylinder on demand and 1.8 TFSI) and the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel. These will be followed by the first ever Quattro cabriolet and the first0ever S3 Quattro Cabriolet – the latter sounding like this summer’s ‘must have’ for the hip folk in Noosa/Palm Beach/Portsea.
The folding roof is available in black, grey or brown and features acoustic insulation. The rear window is glass and active roll bars provide extra safety.(Baron Zhang)

Everyone’s Dream: Lamborghini Huracan

It can be acknowledged that Lamborghini is one of the most famous luxury super sports car brands around the world. Most car lovers have the dream of owning such a car. The company, Automobili Lamborghini, which was founded in 1963, is headquartered in Sant’ Agata Bolognese, in Northeastern Italy. It has manufactured some of the world’s most sought-after super sports cars. With 122 dealerships worldwide, the company is building on a succession of dynamic and elegant super sports cars including the 350GT, Miura, Espada, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago, Revention Coupe, Revention Roadster, Aventador and Gallardo.
Today, I will introduce the Lamborghini Huracan. When I glanced through some of its pictures, I was attracted by its exterior looks. Then, I did some research about the car. The Huracan is fitted will full LED illumination, weighing in at only 1,422kg.The top speed is over 325km/h and the acceleration is from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and to 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds.

Unfortunately, Australian customers might not purchase the car until 2015, as delivery to the first customers is planned for spring 2014 in Europe. I am guessing who can be the first owner of the car, a super star, a CEO of a well-known company or some other affluent persons. But, I know owning the car is still a dream for me. (Baron Zhang)

Design Layout

Today, Baron and I have discussed something about our blog. The topic we have selected is car, as we are both interested in talking out them. Meanwhile, we have made some researches about Blogger and learned about some technical skills on creating a blog. In order to start with our work, a design layout has been created at first after discussions. As two male students, we both agreed that dark colors should be considered as main background color. Besides, we also considered which gadgets should be shown in our blog. We assumed that our readers should be car lovers. Therefore, a gadget named My Favorite Link was established, which included a variety of car brands official websites, helping readers to easily enter into these websites to seek their favorite cars. In the design layout, our blog was mainly divided into six parts, name of blog, car picture, blog posts, blog archive, my favorite links and Logo. We will gradually improve the blog in the future. Our design layout was shown in the follow picture. (James Liu)
